Elizabeth Murphy Goodwin Peacock
Founder of the Right to Life League Board of Directors
Founder of the Right to Life League Board of Directors Elizabeth Murphy Goodwin Peacock, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, defender of life, died peacefully on November 25, 2011. Elizabeth was born on April 15, 1922, the second of four daughters to David Murphy and Zoa McGuire Murphy in Dubuque, Iowa. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Detroit and received a Master's Degree in Medical Social Work from St. Louis University.
Since then, she pressed forward the causes of those who needed a voice: the sick, the poor, and the unborn. She was the founding President of the Mission Doctors Association of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, President of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (ACCW), and founding Board Member of the Right to Life League of Southern California.
Elizabeth was "Nana", protector and role model to 45 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren, each of whom knew and loved her and remain as a testament to a great and faith filled woman. Her greatest legacy is her family, the center of her life. We will all miss her deeply, but are far better people for having had her touch our lives. The League is establishing a fund in her honor and will be reporting on it each year
